How it works
The mechanics, in plain language.
A challenge is a commitment you make with your own money, checked by your own wearable. Every step, including where the money goes.
The private beta is free. The fees and payouts described on this page apply to paid challenges. ZoneStreak charges no entry fee, holds no money, and issues no payouts during the beta.
Part 1
Joining a challenge
- Fixed start, fixed length. Two weeks or more, with a weekly goal and an entry fee.
- The goal is measurable. Written in terms your wearable can check. Examples: "4 workouts of 30+ minutes with average heart rate in Zone 2 or higher" or "3 strength sessions of 40+ minutes".
- Everyone pays the same. You pay the entry fee when you join, and it is the same fee for everyone in that challenge.
- Refundable before it starts. A full refund any time before the challenge starts, no questions asked.
Part 2
Verifying workouts
- Connect Apple Watch or Whoop. Set up during onboarding. ZoneStreak reads duration, type, and heart-rate data for the workout window only.
- Every workout is checked automatically. Once it syncs, ZoneStreak checks it against the challenge rule and marks it Verified or Not counted. You see the result and the reason in the app.
- Manual entries are not accepted. If a workout does not sync, retry from your wearable, and contact support before the week closes if it still fails.
- Weeks close Sunday at 11:59 PM. In your local time zone. What is verified by then is what counts.
Part 3
Finishing and paying out
- Finishing is binary. Meet the weekly goal in every week. There is no partial credit and no ranking.
- ZoneStreak keeps 15%. All entry fees form the prize pool. The remaining 85% is split equally among every finisher.
- Miss a week and you are out. Your entry fee stays in the prize pool for the finishers. You can keep training and see your data for the rest of it.
- You cannot lose money by finishing. If every participant finishes, each person receives their entry fee minus the platform fee.
- Paid when the challenge ends. In a paid challenge, your share is credited to your ZoneStreak balance when the challenge ends. Put it toward a future entry fee, or request a cash payout at any time. We never convert your balance to cash without you asking.
Worked example
Where every dollar goes.
Adjust the numbers. The math is the same for every challenge.
- Total entry fees (prize pool)
- 60 x $40.00
- $2,400.00
- ZoneStreak platform fee (15%)
- The only fee ZoneStreak takes
- - $360.00
- Paid out to finishers
- Split equally
- $2,040.00
- Each finisher receives
- $8.57 more than their entry fee
- $48.57
- Each non-finisher receives
- Their entry fee stays in the prize pool
- $0.00
Why this is a contest of effort
You decide the outcome. Every time.
Nothing in a ZoneStreak challenge is random. There is no drawing, no ranking against other participants, and no element outside your control. Whether you finish depends only on whether you complete the workouts you committed to, as verified by your wearable.
Every participant who finishes receives the same share. Someone who trains harder than the goal does not earn more than someone who meets it exactly. The challenge measures follow-through, not fitness level.
Fees, refunds, and eligibility are set out in full on the Pricing and fees page and in the Terms of Service.
Edge cases
What happens when things do not go to plan.
Do I compete against other participants?
No. Everyone is measured against the same fixed goal, not against each other. If everyone finishes, everyone shares the prize pool equally. Someone else succeeding never costs you anything.
What if nobody finishes?
The prize pool is retained by ZoneStreak. Entry fees are only ever paid out to participants who hit their goal, so with no finishers there is nobody to pay out to.
What if my watch fails or I am injured?
Contact support before the weekly deadline. Sync failures are usually recoverable from your wearable history. For injury or illness we can withdraw you and refund the fee at our discretion, as the Terms of Service set out.
When and how am I paid?
Your share is credited to your ZoneStreak balance when the challenge ends. Keep it there for a future entry fee, or request a cash payout whenever you want. The app shows your projected share throughout.
Can I be in more than one challenge?
Yes. Each has its own entry fee, prize pool and goal, and one workout can count toward several if it meets each rule.
Actually commit to your training. Then follow through.
